Tamar at about 16 years old just after she gave birth to Fauna, and before she left for  Mexico.  Just a year earlier she was involved in the sensational incest trial with her father, George Hodel.  He was acquitted of the charge on Christmas Eve and Tamar was branded as a pathological liar.  It took her brother, Steve, a former LAPD detective to uncover the truth about their infamous father.

The old Riverside Hotel in Reno, Nevada was where Louise met Jimmie Lee and offered her the baby.

The House on Franklin in Los Angeles

This is the home on Franklin in Hollywood that was previously owned by Dr. George Hodel.  Tamar visited the home during her teen years and stayed with her father.  It is also the site of the investigation into the gruesome murder of the Black Dahlia.


Dr. George Hodel
Dr. George Hodel at about 37 years old.  His IQ was reported to be close to 200. After the incest trial, he kept a watchful eye from a distance on his family.  In the book, The Black Dahlia Avenger, his son, Steve Hodel, builds a very strong case against him as the alleged  murderer of Elizabeth Short.

Louise, the Salon Operator, who found the black mother

Louise, the San Francisco salon operator that Tamar's mother enlisted to help find parents  for the mixed race baby.
